Is there any truth to the saying...

"Intelligent Minds Discuss Idea's"

"Average Minds Discuss Events"

"Small Minds Discuss People"

By thinking rationally and reasonably how does this relate to you individually?

Thats more a myth based on a partial fact.

Intelligent minds discuss events or people when they feel said events or people are roadblocks, information sources, or connections to realizing ideas. Or if an event was comical, enjoyable, or otherwise interesting or useful to note.

The actual truth is that intelligent minds talk about smart ideas (On top of everything else) and don't talk about events or people that do not pertain to them either directly, or indirectly.

So for example I might talk about other people's hobbies, if my goal is to get a friend or girlfriend to share my hobbies with.

I might talk about how people act sexually, in a manner that promotes a society behavioral ideal, if I for example am looking for a woman who agrees with said ideal.

I might talk about a societal problem if I am trying to normalize the opposing view.

The list goes on.

I believe it's generally true. At least in my experience. Dumb people talk about celebrity gossip. Average people talk about the news. And intelligent people talk about ideas to fix world problems. Seems to be the case with me and my social circle, at least.

Eh, kinda. The way human conversation tends to flow, it doesn't usually on one topic for very long; it shifts around and changes.
