Is it bad to see professors after class due to being uncomfortable asking questions in class?

I get anxious and worry about speaking in class. Occasionally there are drop in sessions where you can go to the professors office and ask questions. Today I didn’t completely understand everything we did. Is it bad that I’d prefer to see the professor one on one than ask in the class?

Yes. I get not wanting to look dumb or being put on the spot. But remember you're a STUDENT you're there to LEARN. You're not always supposed to get everything at the same speed as others. This is why you ask questions. Consider the possibility that there's another girl or guy for that matter, in the class just like you that doesn't quite get it but is too afraid to speak up. By asking you're helping them out. You're also helping the teacher out. He doesn't always know if his lesson is landing. By asking questions you're giving feedback. If he's a good teacher he might alter his lesson. So by speaking up and asking questions you're actually helping improve the quality of not only your education but potentially everyone's as well.
