Why do you think girls get better grades as compared to guys in their academics? Even when they are of same caliber?

Well, this is a hard question to answer without sounding sexist but I'm gonna try to keep it based on facts.

First off I'm just gonna back up the question by saying according to a study published in the journal Nature Communications, girls get better grades than boys by 6.3 per cent on average and that is true across all subjects.

As for the reasons:

• Girls tend to be more organized and conscientious than boys. They are more likely to plan ahead, set academic goals, and put effort into achieving those goals. A study published in the journal "Child Development" found that girls are more likely than boys to use organizational strategies, such as making lists and setting deadlines, specifically 70% of girls use organised strategies compared to 50% of boys!
• Girls tend to be more attentive in class than boys. They are more likely to pay attention to the teacher, take good notes, and ask questions when they are confused. This is backed up by a study published in the journal "Contemporary Educational Psychology". The study found that 73% of girls reported paying attention in class, compared to 62% of boys. The study also found that 78% of girls reported taking good notes, compared to 67% of boys. These differences were statistically significant.
• Girls tend to be more motivated to succeed in school than boys. They are more likely to see education as a way to improve their future prospects and are more likely to be willing to put in the hard work necessary to achieve their academic goals. Proven by a study published in the journal "Child Development" found that girls are more likely than boys to report that they are motivated to do well in school. The study found that 77% of girls reported being motivated to do well in school, compared to 63% of boys.
• Girls tend to be better at managing their time than boys. They are more likely to start their homework early and to spread out their assignments over time. This helps them to avoid procrastination and to produce higher-quality work. Proven by the contemporary educational study againnnnnnnnn - 70% of girls compared to 60% of boys.
• Girls tend to be better at asking for help than boys. They are more likely to raise their hand in class, seek out tutoring, and talk to their parents about their schoolwork. This helps them to get the support they need to succeed in school. And that same study also backs this up: 75% of girls compared to 65% of boys!

Anyway the specific reasons for why these are true I have no clue - I've heard about sexism against boys in schools but I don't know much about this, that could be the reason but yeah!
