Are you ever resentful of younger, more successful people?

Whether it’s people born into a famous family who are pretty much destined to be great actors, musicians, etc.

Or maybe it’s just a working class individual who had a great idea and got rich, or got a lucky break. Do you ever look at these guys with hard feelings?

I do. I know I shouldn’t, but it’s hard. I was raised in a really bad neighborhood with murders daily, an open air drug market, etc. (Kensington, Philadelphia, if you’re wondering).

But then I see these guys younger than me getting so much money.

OnlyFans models born in 2005 making hundreds of thousands, actresses and actors even younger making millions.

Then you got the rich little fuckers that didn’t even work for it.

It’s like, fuck man. I’m 22 doing blue collar work, and you got rich ass people younger than me.

I wanted to go to college, but I was so focused on literal fucking survival that that path wasn’t able to be created by me at that time. I can still go, but I kick myself in the ass for not going yet. I could have a 4 year degree by now.

When I see it, it just drives me to want to go after my own goals harder.

I look in the mirror at myself and I set a higher standard for myself. I force myself to step it up so that I won’t be too old to enjoy my success.


You’re 23, you’re still young. It’s good that you’re thinking about this now.


Whether your education is formal or informal, what’s important is your skills.


Work hard on developing the skills you need to be successful in your chosen career, and you’ll be successful.


These overnight successes that you see, there’s no reason to be jealous. Because if it’s not skill-based, they can lose it overnight.


Platforms phase out, accounts get banned, policies get updated, and the money can disappear in a flash when you’re too dependent on something outside of yourself for money.


But skills? You take those wherever you go. With the right skills, your income is going to be stable no matter how the economy is like and no matter what apps or platforms are available.


Building yourself, developing yourself, and sharping your skills is the path to true financial stability and success.


Go for a 50-year legacy, not 5-minutes of fame.

It’s good to have a rags to riches story. It’s an opportunity to prove to yourself what you’re made of. You have an opportunity to test your grit. You’re the underdog and you get to write your own story. Choose to become your own hero, don’t be a victim, become victorious despite the odds being against you. I used to resent people from coming from a home with resources - here I don't only mean financial resources. I got passed that and owned my own circumstances and have made the best out of it.

I only recently finished my degree - doing the job I want, financially stable and with people around me that love me. I couldn't ask for more as it is.
