Is my employer trying to let me go nicely or is she trying to force me into a resignation because it is less costly for the company?

I had a one on one feedback with one of my bosses at the company - it has been about 4 months. She was short and direct in the review claiming that I was too slow and that the work just didn’t flow. She asked me to think for a few days if I was a right fit for the company. I asked if this is how they feel definitely and she said to have another meeting next week. When I explained this to my close friends in the same company, they got very angry knowing that this was a lame excuse. They would not provide us with any proper training and expect us to do things on our own. My friends claim she is trying to bully me into quitting because they would have to provide legitimate reason to the international HQ about why they want to fire me. So they want me to resign so that I won’t be nuisance to them and they won’t have to pay for any expenses… I feel very exploited. Wtf?
