Is my company trying to force people to quit?

I’ve been at my company for a little over 2 years. Shortly after I was hired, they adjusted the salary bands to where my salary is higher than what my band level is. This means that when it comes time for annual increases, I don’t get any, and my bonuses are really small compared to my colleagues’.

The job market is tough and I’ve been applying elsewhere, but it seems like companies only review my application if I have a friend that already works there and even then, I either don’t get interviewed or I make it to the final round, but no offer.

Friday morning, at 7 am, all of my team members were mandated to attend an all-hands meeting with 300 other employees. They’re doing a company-wide re-org. In short, the slides they showed for the meeting had a “Company Confidential” tag on it meaning that the slides couldn’t be recorded, shared, or screenshot. You get a strike if you do any of those actions, 3 strikes and you’re fired. In the slides, were vital information such as how to reach out to my new manager, where to find training for my new team, etc. The person driving the slides went through them so fast that I couldn’t capture the info needed. The main presenter said that if we don’t get caught up to speed by next Friday, they’re going to move on from us.

This is so sick, cryptic, and weird. What’s wrong with corporate America? Why not give your employees the tools to succeed and only look for ways to punish?
