if you get paid fortnightly, or especially monthly, you have to learn to budget up front. Have an idea of what monthly utilities, rent or mortgage, etc. are and when they are due. So that is a drawback. On the other hand, learning to budget is something you SHOULD definitely learn if you have not already.
I don't think it matters. Getting paid weekly hi es you a chance to earn some money on your pay a but sooner, while fortnightly ( every 2 weeks ) is a bit easier to manage, and reduces the temptation to spend every week if you get paid weekly.
I get paid by fortnight and I like it.
It works well because I can ensure I have my bills paid, and the lightest weeks on my balance are often when I still have fresh shopping so I don't need to worry about food.
I have 3 jobs, at one job I get paid weekly. At other two jobs - monthly.
I spend money too easily when I know I’ll have new supply every week.
So, I suggest the longer the better.

Fortnightly isn’t a term we use here, and I’m too lazy to google it, but given the context the other answer is “weekly” I’ll guess fortnightly is what we call biweekly.
I get paid weekly and prefer it that way. If you get paid biweekly, your check is bigger. A higher amount of funds means more money taxed. Weekly paychecks get taxes less due to less money being paid. You’d think it’d balance out… it doesn’t.
it is. Fortnight = two weeks.
Brit specific answer here - If you have student loan to repay, you'll always end up repaying more student loan than you have to/ should, if you earn just a tad enough and you're paid weekly.
If you're paid monthly it doesn't do that.
I'd prefer monthly or fortnightly pay tbh. Easier for me to budget compared to weekly.
As for me I get paid fortnightly or biweekly as some say & to be honest I liked it better when I was paid weekly however it saves companies money to pay people fortnightly.
I hadn't been paid weekly since I was 16. I took a paid intern at my mom's job and joined the biweekly club with every job since. Once you make bank and no longer live paycheck to paycheck, it doesn't matter anymore.
Neither , Monthly is far better , makes you plan better , very few roles in Australia are paid weekly , only casual stuff , you can plan budget , save , invest when that payment comes monthly.
I don't think there's much difference unless you are the sort of person who spends it all the minute you get it. In that case you would want to be paid more frequently.
I'm salaried, which means I get paid monthly... Which I find is by far the best method as you then have more control over your outgoings.
I have never experienced anything other then monthly. All fixed costs bills (subscriptions, living costs, etc) also come monthly...
i would say weekly cause it adds up at the end of the week and its just more satisfying receiving it that way
Weekly is better, but that is rare these days.
Well at my job, I get paid biweekly and we do have to wait every two weeks to get paid but it is better to have more money on your paycheck.
I just learned a new word, and it doesn't make sense. lol
Unless it makes a difference in how much you get in total, the sooner the better.
I prefer weekly because I could anytime find something better.
monthly is best :)
I pay my employees weekly.
it is better if you pay not getting paid
Monthly.
Weekly.
