Considering the picture in your question we don`t have to ask what you think... For me it doesn`t really matter what job they do but rather why the person does the job. A doctor that only became a doctor because he can make a lot of cash is not really someone that should be valued and praised a lot for becoming a doctor, but a doctor that became a doctor because he loves helping people and wants to save many lifes, or wants to go into scientific research to erase diseases that kill millions of people than yes, they deserve praise and admiration. Same with your picture of a soldier. Someone who only joins the army because he loves the money he gets from killing innocent people like certain Russians or someone who only joins the army because he finds guns cool or wants to shoot at people, doesn`t really deserve any admiration for choosing that job, but someone who chooses that role to protect his family and country on the other hand does deserve it.
It is really always about the person, not about their job.
Farmer, miner, fireman, worker, soldier, accountant, researcher, teacher... everywhing which produces of something of concrete or brings real value to the society. To sum up, average joe and average jane's jobs deserve the respect. But as for the wealthier jobs...
