It really comes down to who you know.
If I personally knew a person working in social media marketing and knew how much they earn and exactly what they do, that could influence my opinion of it is impressive or not.
i personally know nurses that work in the ER that’s sys they basically do NOtHiNg all day most days. Of course there are days that they do work hard but it’s almost nothing. They sit most of the time and joke around and warm about 50 dollars an hour some more some less and all do the same things. It’s bad and impressive at the same time. Many times that patients die is directly due to someone’s negligence and errors between nurses. That’s a fact that will probably remain forever. Most people who go I to the field don’t go in it to actually help people but rather for the paycheck. The ones that actually care are a very low percent and after working there so long they too stop caring since they see people die on the daily almost.
so for this I say nurses are most impressive. Big paycheck and do almost nothing all day. With the exclusion of SOME exhausting days, but is mostly impressive because they don’t have hard working days everyday and the check is big regardless.
Would a nurse earn more money?
Depends on a lot of factors. Personally I don’t know anyone in the social marketing department to compare. You have google answers but that’s so general. It can be way more and it can be way less. I personally know nurses so I can say 50to 60 dollars an hour for mostly sitting down doing nothing is impressive as far as earning a good living with such minimal work.
An anesthetic specifically is by far the MOsT impressive hands down as they earn even more than doctors. But that’s because your life really is in their hands.
One helps to save lives, the other seeks to corrupt lives.
Would you need to be smarter to be an icu nurse?
I don't offer any inherent respect to someone solely because of their job title.
That said, the road to becoming a nurse is much harder than any form of marketing. Without knowing anything else about the individuals, the nurse has a leg up for that reason... Though as a personal anecdote, I have disliked the majority of both, but nurses at least have some exceptions.
The nurse wins every time, degree course education, working in mental health or patient care, intensive care, etc.

IC nurse, hands down. A) you need a bachelor's degree in Nursing which is a tough curriculum. and B) Thr IC nurses are the real superstars in the nursing field. Social media marketing is a job for people who are too lazy to get a real career.
Even if it was a marketing manager? Or would an icu nurse still be more impressive?
ER & intensive care nurses are just INCREDIBLE people! To do what they do EVERYDAY is amazing! They command high salaries in USA America ($80K starting & goes to $150K EASILY in my region) and their worth every penny!
When the zombie apocalypse comes who ya gonna want at your side?
I'm in the digital marketing field myself and I can easily say that an intensive care nurse is much more impressive and meaningful to society.
ICU nurse. It requires a massive amount of knowledge and skill.
exactly
saving lives is just a bit more important than social media.
They were doing that for 100s of years before there was such a thing as social media.
A nurse saves lives, while a marketing person ruins them.
Nurse. Come on. It's hard work. 😅🤕😳
R u sure?
Aged care was enough of an eye opener and I should know, I worked there 😯 it's a lot harder than it looks, 😞
That's not even taking emergency room or hospital line work yikes 😳 so hats off to women who are nurses and make nurses , it's a lot of cleaning, paperwork, drying, monitoring
One saves lives one is mildly useful
Which one requires one to be smarter?
ofcorse the nurse
Social media marketing. It’s impressive because it’s sick someone can make a living doing something so useless.
Neither to be honest. If I was forced to choose I'd choose nurse though.
Why is that?
Anything social media to me is a turnoff (I realize the irony of that statement since I'm typing this on social media). And it's kind of a rule with me. I don't date teachers or nurses. Go on any dating app and you'd be amazed by how many teachers and nurses there are on there. That ain't by accident. Know what I'm saying?
Both can be impressive in their own ways.
Which one is more generally speaking?
IC Nurse carries much more responsibility.
2nd.
