Is a 2.4-2.9 GPA horribly low? do u think I could get into ANY colleges?

I’m so embarrassed. (Not saying my gpa online but definitely when in person I’m very embarrassed).

I will never get into any colleges or universities with a gpa this low. Im pretty sure that I have those worst gpa ever.

Is this bad? What do u think?

When I started college, my GPA was not good - it was in that range. In fact, my second semester was a 2.5. BUT, I turned things around! By my 4th semester, I "learned how to learn" and I always had much better grades so that I even went to graduate school and pursued a PhD.

What your grades are now in not a certain indication of what your grades will be. Colleges know this. But, it is still competitive. So, if you have a rough time getting into the colleges of your choice, consider going to a 2-year school like a community college and get good grades there. THEN you can transfer to a decent 4-year school. Besides, you save money this way. Most community colleges have low tuition but the subjects are really the same. Really, is Calculus 101 all that different in Hudson Valley Community College than it is at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (both in Troy NY)? Not really, because HVCC typically prepares its kids so they can transfer to RPI. And, when I taught at RPI, every kid who came from HVCC had their shit together.

So, don't despair. Your life is not in ruins. BUT, you still need to work at it. More studying, less streaming and phone time and video games.

Community college, do well, transfer after sophomore year, and guess what? That degree you get from the University will look like the one that 4.0+ person who went there four years gets.

If that doesn’t work out, I guess I’ll just be a cleaner since I do good at cleaning.

Go to your community college, get all your gen ed classes out the way and improve your GPA.

Then transfer to a 4 year school afterwards.

Like the other guy said just do well in community college. My GPA in community college is 3.6 and I am transferring to a top school. I got a GED and I didn't finish highschool and I got accepted into a good school.
