Do you use autopay for bills? Or do you manually pay them?

Do you use autopay for bills? Why or why not? And if you pay them manually, what is your strategy to ensure you pay them on time?

As for me I’m a check writer & when it comes to my finances everything is a paper trail with me so my books are balanced. Knock on wood my bills have always been paid on time & never late. As for my bills they are always paid months in advance. With my phone, internet, water & sewer as well as electric bills I write check for more than my actual bill so I have at least a three or four month credit on their systems & don’t receive bills for months. My pest control bill is paid for the year & the same thing goes for my heating & air conditioner servicing. When I had a mortgage I always made sure it was paid months in advanced so I could never be late & I always paid extra toward principal & pissed them off by paying off my mortgage early.

I do not use autopay. I do not do online banking. I pay all my bills by check. I do not even have an ATM card anymore.

I use autopay directly with the supplier for some, and bank bill pay for others.
