You have to get your name out in front of a lot of people. Advertising is the best way. There are thousands of free sites that you can advertise on for free. It also helps a lot by getting into local papers. Print up flyers and put them on cars in busy parking lots.

You need to be better than the competition so either faster, more economic or offer higher quality

Be ready to work a lot, I mean I still do 70 hours in an average week and have been at it for years

You have to do everything yourself and be good at it. You need to be able to sell, build shelves, fix machines, negotiate with vendors, hunt for bargains and any one of another hundred things.
