Well, she's not my boss, but we have a contract with her. I work for a commercial cleaning company. At the building I clean, my boss drinks a lot of redbulls. She puts them in a bag, and stacks them in the break room. They've been there for about a year. Should I tell her that she should just recycle them? I don't want people getting sick.

Dude, that's totally gross about the canned drinks stacking up for a year. I wouldn't wanna eat in a break room that looks like a landfill, ya know?
I'd politely bring it up to your client, but be chill about it. Next time you see her, maybe say something like "Hey, saw the drink can collection in the break room is getting pretty big. We're trying to keep things hygienic for everyone. Think I could throw them out so people have a cleaner space?"
Don't outright accuse her of being nasty or anything. Just play it cool like you're helping out. And offer to take care of it for her so she doesn't feel attacked.
She might not even realize how it looks after so long. As long as you keep it laid back and about everyone's well-being, I don't think she'd get too bent outta shape. Just doing your job to provide a healthy environment, right? Hopefully she's cool about it.
But if she acts pissy, then oh well, you tried. At least you can say you looked out for the other employees' sake. That's all you can do, my man!
My bad, she doesn't stack them up in the break room. She puts them in a bin in the breakroom, and then when that gets full my co worker bags them and puts them in the supply closet that is across the hall.
Ahh word, good looks for clarifyin' the scene. So the cans get collected in the bin then stashed away, got it got it.
Well in that case homie, I'd still feel Miss Boss Lady out real chill like. Say somethin' like "Aye, mad props to y'all for recongnizin' the need to can it up. But peep game - the supply closet ain't exactly the best place for long term storage, ya dig?"
Maybe suggest instead of hoardin' em there, they could set up a regular pickup so the cans stay movin' out. Less clutter and funk buildup that way too.
She prob just ain't thought it all the way through. By pointin' it out respectfully, now she in the know to keep things fresh n' fly. A little' teamwork go a long way!
Handle it gentle like - ain't no beef, just lookin' out for a cleaner environment all around. She'll be down to collaborate for sure.
Sure, go for it
