Am I wrong for being upset my manager might tell the owner about unclean tea dispensers?

I started working at McDonald's a month ago. There are these small tanks with a nozzle that dispenses tea. I close with my manager and another crew member. I just wash the dishes and they bring them back to me. They never once brought the tea dispensers back, and I never thought about it. So last night my manager was sick, and my co worker had the day off, so a manager from another town came to close with me. While I was Washing the dishes she brings the tea dispensers back, and asks if we wash them. I just told the truth and said no, and that they never had me wash those. So she took the nozzle apart, and showed me a lot if caked up tea inside, and she had me wash them out. She was like "this is absolutely disgusting" then she said she is going to tell the owner. I was just like "okay". I agree that its disgusting and that they need to be cleaned, but I kinda wish she would just tell me to make sure it gets done, and not get the owner involved.
