Girls, Would you call period pain sick leave?

Most of this year my period has fortunately come in the weekend so I've had the weekend to recover from bad period pain.

Unfortunately this time it's come on a work day & need to take the day off as I can barely move.

Is this ok to say to my boss:

Unfortunately I can't come in today as I'm not feeling well.

Do I need to. give a reason or is that ok?

You shouldn’t need to give more reasoning than that. On another note though, I think you should see a gynaecologist or specialist about your period pain. Having pain that severe is not normal, you could possibly have a condition that can be treated.

you should say that u don’t feel good and that’s a reason. if he asks specifically then tell him about bad period pain

you do not need to give a reason so yes, "i'm not feeling well" is perfectly acceptable.
