I want to improve my appearance and skills before entering a job is that wrong?

I recently graduated, from college, finding a job is a bit difficult for my field and when i find one i don’t want to apply because i feel insecure about my appearance, i have been in very embarrassing situation before due to my looks and im really traumatized and don’t want to be in same situations i don’t want others think of me as if im weird, is it wrong that i don’t apply for jobs until i feel im ready in all aspects appearance skill.. but im afraid i miss opportunities bcz of that

Im currently thinking of that to work other jobs somehow related to mine until i can work in my field

Its not related to my field.. it’s related to communicating with people, mostly they think about me differently coz of my look.. i have been through a lot bcz of that i don’t want that strange stare of other people

You do want to optimize your appearance, but ask people who see you in real life what they think.

Unless you're tryna get a job in which you are selling your appearance, I don't see why you feel the need to do so. You need to improve your self-confidence/esteem more than anything.
