Update on night shift: surprisingly like it. I thought I'd hate it. Has anyone else here ever worked nights?

I only work two 16-hour shifts, which is 32 hours. That's considered full-time. The rest of my week, I'm off, or I'll fill in here and there. Other than that, my perm schedule is two days a week, 32 hrs.

Not really night shifts, but part of my IT projects were in international time zones, so I would work e. g. from noon to midnight.
16 hour shifts sound brutal, by the way. Is this desk work or do you have to be on your feet mostly?

I once had a graveyard shift job. Jobs with odd hours like this are only good for people that are naturally night owls and are capable of sleeping when the sun is up.

I prefer to work at night. Silence, no requests, pure bliss...

Unfortunately, there is always a day somewhere which means someone wants something from me... my company has offices around the globe...

Yes and hated it. I prefer to be off by or before 5pm. And i prefer to start around 8 or 9am

I did it for a while. It was okay except that I was all screwed up by it. I was not getting enough sleep and used to fall asleep on the job.
