What did you do when once u graduated HS?

I graduated a semester early. I took a semester off to work then went to college in the fall. Did that for a couple semesters till I determined that wasn't the path for me. I got a job that I worked at for 23 years. Saving and investing as much as I could. I retired 2 years. Ago and now I live off passive income and keep investing the rest.

My advice to the young is college is important (obviously not for me but I recognize how lucky I was. by the way a lot of things in life is luck). Statistically speaking you'll make more at every stage of life with a degree. But equally important is the ability to SELL yourself. If you don't believe your value how is someone else supposed to.

My second piece of advice is start investing as soon as possible. There's only 24 hrs. In the day. To quote Warren Buffet "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you'll be working till the day you die".

And if it makes you feel any better I was FLAT BROKE at 26. So don't think you can't stumble a bit and still catch up. But don't put it off. Years of compounding is invaluable. You can't get those years back when they're gone.

I wasn't sure either about what I was going to do next so I didn't want to rush to a decision...

and I still, one year later made the wrong decision and enrolled to college and a career I really didn't want to pursue and fully commit to it for the rest of my days... lol

so yes... make sure you really follow the one thing you would like to be doing in 10 years from now and at least that

I couldn't do much due to me being neurodivergent, which restricts me from ever driving a vehicle. I did want to do volunteering and get a cleaners certificate, but neither my parents are on board with that. I mean, you can get a job without a resume, but it is good to do that if you didn't have any time in your teen years. Plus, doing so gets you more likely to be hired for a job. The only thing of volunteering I did being 24 was help my friend do instacarting. I don't get paid for it, but I helped them so they could earn more money (they really needed it). I mean, hey, I get to hangout with my friend, help them, and volunteer, all at the same time. How happier could I be?

I went to college. Well did that and bartended for a few years now. It's good money and helps pay for school. I graduated and went back for my masters because I kind of need it for my field of work I want to get into. Even my undergrad would be pretty useless without furthering my education. Of my close friends all but one went to college after. The one that didn't go is a manager at sephora and I still get no discount lol. She does that lucky... i won't swear. Take some time if you have to and really think about what interests you and what your life goals are. Don't rush an expensive decision... which college is. Be sure.

i never graduated hs, and just dropped out. i did however, eventually make my way to community college, which i dont recomend unless a job requires it. there's a worker shortage right now, so you are lucky to be in the job market now. you have a lot more choices than people from 10 years ago. i have a friend who has a criminal record, and he was always not allowed to become a cop. he waited for years. because there's a worker shortage now, they let him become one. not telling you to become a cop, but jump into the job market

Hopefully by then I can find a comic book publisher to share my books with the American people. Maybe I can morph my YouTube channel into some kind of side job, I think the 100 subscriber special will increase viewership. Hopefully, unless the algorithm chokes. Haven’t posted in a while so maybe that’s why it’s slow. In terms of my artistic ability though, I absolutely have more than what it takes to be the world’s greatest Conga artist and make Conga GREAT AGAIN!
