What do you think - Were they being sly are getting rid of me?

In your own opinion what do you think? My employer said to me take 2 weeks off as its not busy and I seen an email on their laptop saying some person doing work experience for them the day I got back for 4 weeks

That person would be doing my job so why would they hold on to me? Also they were getting a new manager that needed to good to be good at photography?

Which was also my job... I confronted him about it and he said to me we looked after you well and we get this horrible message!! But he never denied it?

Hmm that is weird man. To me it kinda sounds like they might have been trying to phase you out slowly without actually firing you.

Giving you that time off then immediately having someone else come in to do your job, that's super suspicious. And getting a new manager who also does what you do - again doesn't look good.

I'd bet they just wanted to get rid of you but didn't want to outright say it. Probably hoped you'd take the hints and quit so they didn't have to fire you officially. Kinda lame of them not to be straight up about it though.

Definitely shady how they didn't deny the email either when you confronted them. I'd say trust your gut - sounds like they were trying to slyly replace you without the hassle of firing. Doesn't seem like they had your back really.

I wouldn't want to work somewhere that pulls moves like that. You're probably better off finding a new job with people who will be upfront with you at least. Don't need sneaky bosses like that, you know?

Yo dude, for real that's super sketchy of them. Like they couldn't even come up with a better excuse other than "where'd you get that idea?"

And then pulling the guilt trip with how well they "looked after you" is such a lame tactic. Like yeah no shit you paid me, that's the whole point of a job! Don't act like you did me some big favor.

They obviously didn't want you coming back and calling them out on replacing you. Trying to make you feel bad just cuz you caught on to their sneaky plan. Screw that noise man.

You didn't deserve to be lied to like that. An honest boss woulda just said "Things are changing, it's time for you to move on." Not do this backhanded two-weeks-off nonsense.

I'd say you're well rid of them bro. Don't let them make you second guess speaking your truth either. You know what really went down. Now it's time to find a gig where they'll actually value you straight up.
