Smartest thing you can do is pick a field you can tolerate. Start as high as you can. Push yourself hard ask for raises regularly or promotions. Once you hit the wall (business wall) wait 2 months ask for another raise/promotion once you are denied twice look for a different job that wants the same work for more pay. Now you get your raise. Repeat with second job and third and so on until you reach a point of income that you can live on comfortably (60k is average cost of living for reference) when you surpass that make sure you continue to make good choices and don't fall for the materialistic crap that is America. Get what you need and maybe a bit of what you want but continue building your wealth. When you have extra funds over 10k start investing that extra money in CD's, stocks, property (not right now wait for better interest rates) figure out what you like or what you can offer as a service and invest in that. Set up your own personal small business scale it. You will be far happier this way. And the most important thing. Invest in friends you can trust but not in family.

i think the best thing you can do is: do a job that keeps you afloat financially for now and do that job half assed. invest all your spare ressources into finding something you "really" wanna do. like what positive change do you wanna see in society and what job can you work to actually have an impact in the thing you wanna improve? i think that's the best start.
In general, the first thing we should always do is secure our current situation. That mainly means to excel in our current job.
When your position and future in your current workplace are safe, then you can start to check possible solutions for the future. Sometimes interests are a great way to get the dream job. Sometimes, we have already set a goal in mind, and then we have to follow the plan. But as you didn't share any details, there is nothing more to say :)

Few people have dream jobs.
You do well where you are and plan the means and methods to move toward your passion job. Getting a better job that aligns more with your interests is also a good thing.I too have no "dream job". It's a myth.
If I were paid to travel around the world and rate 1000s of beaches and blog about them (or vlog), THAT could come close enough to a dream job for me.
Or getting girls and telling the internet "these are the places you need to be at if you want to get nice girls fairly easily".
If you don't go for it you will always wonder what if. I love my work. I look forward to Monday morning and I blink and its the weekend. The days go by extremely fast. It's what I always wanted to do and it never feels like work.
It's fine to just work to support yourself without making it your life. What do you enjoy?
A "dream job" is really a fallacy. I have obtained what I thought were dream jobs in the past only to realize it wasn't all that great.
You look for a better job while doing your crappy job. You should always be looking for something better.
Follow you interests and passion. Working in this slave system to make others rich is a trap that will slowly and painfully kill you.

When I was young a job was just a way to get money for a dream life. And dreams are not real anyway.
