And it's permanent
How would you feel if you got a full-time job as a librarian, permanent job?
And it's permanent
I'm pretty sure you have to have a collage degree to be an actual librarian.
But if you're just working there putting books away and checking people out at the counter it would be a good job for some one that is kinda shy and likes to keep to themselves.
I'm a librarian though I wouldn't recommend it. It's too boring. It's no excitement. All I want to do is be a writer not a librarian but it pays the bills.
I have had my share of "exciting" jobs and the I have the scars to prove it. Being a librarian sounds great to me.
Wow. Well I'm sorry that you have the scars behind your "exciting" jobs but my job is okay. Like I said before it pays the bills but it's not what I would really love to be doing. I feel you have to be passionate about your job and I'm just not. I doubt I would have scars doing what I would really love to be doing which is writing for a living.
Well, I wish you luck finding a writing gig.
Thanks!
It's pretty rare to get a full time job as a librarian. The majority of librarians tend to stay on their entire life and are as old as some of the books in the library.
He must have timed it right?
@OfMiceandMen
That's true,
And his job is permanent too
I think I'd be really bored , but I'd try to get as much free time as possible and research stuff that interested me , and I'm sure I'd learn something.
@molonski2 thanks

Well, whenever I hear of a librarian, Evey Carnahan from The Mummy comes to mind:
https://www.youtube.com/embed/jqHPNiVgXeYI think it would be a very good opportunity, for anyone at any age. Very intellectual, detailed when identifying different books, periodicals, etc. The person would definitely develop an interest in reading.
That would be my dream job. I love books. Reading them and writing them and caring for them. They're precious.
It actually sounds pretty nice. I would enjoy doing that.
It'd probably be boring, but what works works.
I'd like it, seems like a pretty decent job and a quiet environment which as an introvert I really like
I would like it cuz I take primaries they are almost like a sanctuary very good vibes cozy feeling
If he loves what he does and the pay is sufficient, then congrats to him, for securing a permanent job!
Sounds boring.
I’ve only ever worked fast paced jobs. I don’t think I could ever do a slow paced one.
@JustinTheGreat. The key is to fill the down time with things you want to do.
I think it would be lots of fun for sure. Hehe.
That would be funny
me being a librarian
It wouldn’t interest me so I wouldn’t apply for it
As long as it's the music library, that's fine with me.
Only problem is, nobody that deals in music/records will ever hire me because I know too much about the topic. I've been trying to get work of that sort all my life but they only want people that don''t know shit about the job and couldn't care less about music or records.
@FunkyMonkee
Sorry to hear that, but keep trying to, don't give up
I've been trying for decades, best I can get is a 2 day gig when they need help doing inventory.
As long as it pays the bills and you don’t go stir crazy. Or you love to read. So, be it.
I would be bored. I need work environments that are busy. I’m also not much of a book reader so working in such a place I’d probably get fired
Extremely happy. I freaking LOVE the library
seems boring and a job that WILL be extinct in the next few years, if not already.
I dont like books that much...
I'd love it, in my library they never seem to do very much,
Right now I would love that job, especially if I had time to read at work.
