Currently a pre-nursing student but having a hard time rn. I'm interested in medical coding but only as a part time or remote job. I'm really passionate about social work if I'm not able to get into nursing program. So is it possible to both? Has anyone ever done that?

Depends on what you want I guess?
They have medical coding certificate programs that are like 6 months- 1 year long. Once you get the education and take the certification you can work as a that part time and go to school for social work afterwards.
But they also have medical billing and coding bachelor’s programs.
I haven't heard anyone who has. But give it a shot. Just don't burn yourself out.
