Is your life limited if you have a low gpa in highschool?

I'm in my 30s and got my ged recently but I got a 2.4 gpa and with a C+. I did work hard but it's the best I was able to do. I'm trying to enroll in a program to become a nurse or an assistant but I feel that my gpa is gonna limit me from doing what I wanted to do in order to get a job with a steady pay.

And is being a C student really that bad? In social and professional life?

Once you get into higher education, the highschool stuff no longer matters. I'm successful and I was basically a high school dropout. Low GPA, failed classes and I wasn't able to graduate. But I got my college degree eventually and everything fell into place after that. No one cared about my poor highschool performance.

The one caveat is that you DO have to educate yourself and be intelligent enough to convince employers to hire you. So, you still have to improve. The other commenter had some solid suggestions for that.

Try again at a junior college and see how it goes from there. Some people are better at kinetic or project level work than they are book studying. Also check if you have dyslexia issues or other learning disabilities. There are many kids who are actually pretty bright once they overcome those.

I have some dyslexia issues actually and getting a C was really hard to get.

Once you get your foot in the door, nobody gives a rats ass about grades, in fact many successful people got mediocre grades.
My line of work pays extremely well, and most people in it were mid to poor students. The owners of both companies I be been at never even finished highschool

Read books, listen to intellectual conversations, do things that expand the mind. You’ll see the difference

It depends. If you’re able to get into a collahe od any kind and raise your GPA
