How was work tonight?

I’m so happy to be home omg.

im so sick of being a waiter lmaooo. Im so SICK of serving people. I need an actual job.
not that serving is not a “real” job. It can be really good money.
but it’s so god damn draining.

First table I had was a party of 25 that me and another server split. Well it was supposed to be 25 but ended up being only 16. So that was annoying because I could easily take a party of 16 by myself and I wouldn’t have had to split the tip. (I mean I could take 25 people by myself too but they don’t allow us to)

we only made $30 each from it so that was whateverrr. The night went smoothly after that until the last hour before close.

we all the sudden got really busy. All 4 of my tables were sitting there until 30 minutes AFTER we closed. And 3 out of 4 of those tables were RUDE and had a ton of special requests. Like I dont understand 😭

and the kitchen was not prepared to get busy so close to closing time so all the food was coming out slow and half-assed made.

So I got shitty tips from those 3 tables but I still made more money that I thought I would tonight

So what would you do if you had the choice to quit waitering and do something else?

That’s the thing, I really don’t know.
I don’t have a “dream job” or anything.
And I’d be willing to go to school but it’s this endless cycle of if I go to school, I don’t have time to work full time. And if I don’t work full time, I won’t be able to afford school or to even live

I know a few people in the same predicament. What do you like to do? Do you like to build things, do you like to draw, do you like to read.

A dream job doesn't necessarily have to pay extremely well, just as along as you can make a reasonable living from it and most of all, you enjoy going to work everyday. The latter is half the battle. There are lots of people making a lot of money, but the thing they dread most is having to back to work on Monday once the weekend is over.

As for me, I like what I am doing. I mostly work days, but sometimes I work early mornings. I also work evenings if I need to head out and listen to wolves, owls, detect bats, amphibians - nocturnal stuff.
