“Somewhat. I know quite a bit about quite a lot.”
Look, I don’t know how to repair my own toaster let alone repair a car. I don’t know most of the inner feelings burning inside me or how to go about managing them right away and have to find a balance to manage them. I don’t know why life in the universe exists. I think knowing this about what I can / can’t do along what answers I have / don’t have makes me navigate the world in pursuit of knowledge also grasp of reality while making me the man I am today.
I think everyone needs to reflect on their individual ignorance and try to self improve, not be an Albert Einstein or Stephan Hawking however be the best version of yourself by looking outside your biases and seeing both sides also accepting the answer when it isn’t something you truly agree with based on the facts provided. I feel everyone holds that sentiment which makes me hopeful to the world that we can become a species of pure empathy, charisma, kindness, also strength.
Everyone is mostly ignorant of everything. There isn't enough time or even brain power to understand all of even the tiniest sliver of our reality, let alone the ones we cannot see or observe.
that would be like a person who's 7 feet tall telling people he's tall. Did Einstein ever have to point out he's a genius?
Close. That would be assuming that everyone with eyes can physically observe that the genius is in fact a genius. But usually, it's harder to tell people's specific IQ range until intellectually tested. So it makes more sense for a genius to let people know that they're a genius than it does for a tall person to tell people they're tall.
I love Epictetus quote partial, "If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid." Because you don't flourish without freeing yourself up to explore and learn. And we really are always learning.
No one can know everything about the universe, so if that's your qualifier for ignorance then everyone in existence is ignorant and the term loses its meaning.

I'm smart enough to have an idea of how ignorant I am.
As people go? I'm well-informed. No one knows "most everything there is to know"
Have you heard of Socrates Aristotle Newton Franklin?

Socrates would not take you seriously if you said you knew a lot. Neither would his student Plato.
