What do you believe are the most important factors that contribute to a successful education?

Define successful, do you mean successful as in getting a degree or successful as in actually learning something? Because the western education system is terrible at the latter and punishes you for what your the worst at in irrelevant subjects rather than developing your skill. So if you want a degree just persist with the bullshit and eventually you will get it, you got to be good at memorizing especially.

Now if you actually want to learn something the key is to do the stuff you wish to learn, play around and explore on your own. Come into contact with material or people who are willing to teach you. Everything of value I know other than the languages I speak and basic counting logic I thought myself.

Making sure that your education will lead to marketable skills that will generate more income than you would otherwise attain. I dropped out before my sophomore year at OCC because my business was then already earning me more than my eventual degree ever likely would. Best financial decision I have made. It has allowed me to expand my business and obtain some remntal properties instead of spending years and years paying off student loans that got me less than I already had.
