Do you remember your first day of school?

Today was my son's first day of school. He'd been excited about it all week. When my wife dropped him off this morning, he apparently bolted for the toys and didn't even notice when she left 😄

Do you remember your first day of school? Or your child's, if you are a parent?

Yeah. The blooper reel is still as clear in my mind naw as the day it happened. It was the day I learned the word “different” (and by the end of the week I ultimately had to push that kid into the mud and walk away from him); it was the day I made my first guy friend (and found out by the end of the week that sharing crayons with a boy in class meant something different than sharing crayons with a girl in class). And I learned how to work with everyone while still being me and standing up for myself and my friends.


What’s that book? … Everything I learned in kindergarten… ;)

Not even a little. I have maybe 2-3 memories total of Kindergarten and I never went to pre-school. I can't remember a single thing about 1st grade. Then I have a few more memories of every grade after.

Yes, my brother and me walked to school with the kids that lived next door who was a year older than us. At lunchtime my brother and me were in the schoolyard and we thought that the school day was over so we walked home. Our mother was pretty mad.

daycare, kinder, elementary, middle-school, high-school, college...

even the biblical camp I was kicked out from at age five... lmao

I don't remember my first day but I got to enjoy the first days with three of my kids. Not one of them was a skirt hugger and they all left with a smile and almost didn't acknowledge that we were there.

I remember I hated my teacher. Like a lot. She didn't have the right temperament for kindergarten kids. She was replaced midway through the year.
