Is this the life of the very rich?

My friend tried to break into Wall Street with a front line sales role and she said she worked over ten hours a day and I think her weeks might have extended past 5 days. If you’re doing 14 hour days, you’ve got diamond necklaces but no time for barbecues or trips to the beach. She later got married to an investment banking professor and now runs her own business and might make more money than a Wall Street employee.

I don't think so

I've known 3 people personally I'd class as very rich (mid-8 figure net worths)
Only things I can say they had in common was a penchant for the best, most of their income was passively generated, they respected those who help them and didn't give a damn what anyone thought

life is full of tradeoffs. I wanted to raise a family. I had to work hard for decades to be able to provide for them. Maybe I had to defer my retirement and I definitely forgone vacations and trips because I was trying to advance my career. I still think it was worth it.
