Who was your favorite teacher in school and why?

My favorite teacher was my physics teacher. I had him in 11th Grade and then when I took AP Physics in the 12th Grade. Originally, I was not supposed to be taking AP sciences in the 12th Grade; I was supposed to take Chemistry which was the 12th Grade science class, but he went to bat for me with the Science Department Chairman and some of my friends; we took Chemistry AND AP Physics. I did the same thing in mathematics too; I took Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus in the 12th Grade as well, but I didn't need anyone's permission to do it. I think all the science and math teachers knew who I was and let me go for it.
I ended up getting a science award in high school and a scholarship which I was able to use at my university.
But that Physics teacher - he was like a second father to me AND during a moment in AP Physics, he gave advice about public speaking which I then used 37 years ago when I began teaching in college; I was deathly afraid of public speaking but I was like a TV preacher at the end of it all because of some advice I remembered back in 12th Grade.
One of my favorite teachers was my Geography teacher. He was laid back and saw the world from a different perspective. He respected the world we live in and made it clear in our young minds that the planet we live on and the oxygen and nitrogen we breathe should always be respected and never taken for granted as all life on earth is precious in it's own way. I find nature a therapy as with other subjects such as Mathematics, Religious studies for example seem more stressful as there are always opinions/clashing opinions and with mathematics a lot of calculations and numbers which can feel like an eternity to read and understand.
One of the teachers I had in 3rd grade because she was the nicest. Unfortunately she was fired because she didn’t have the proper certifications and someone who did applied for her job. The new teacher was not as nice and also smelled so strongly of perfume that we would get headaches and feel nauseous from it.
my french grammar & litterature teacher in middle school. best teacher i ever had. all the students liked him, he was super nice, funny, and could make most boring things interesting
also my home teacher in third grade. he was so so funny, and fun, and he'd give a lot of candy out

My high school band director was genuinely interested in me far beyond simply what I could offer to the band. After I graduated, he left and returned to get his doctorate in education, and we attended the same university. Despite the age difference, we became friends and stayed in contact after we left the university. He ignored the age difference and simply responded to me on the basis of who I was. He died about 6 or 7 years ago.
Can't remember his last name but his first name was Thomas. Had a huge crush on him. I was in grad school and would have asked him out for drinks if it wasn't for the student teacher policy. He was so brilliant and funny.
Music teacher, weirdly was the only non religious teacher in the entire (catholic) school. She gave me free after school lessons on guitar and piano because she saw how much it helped me.
My high school band teacher. He chose me as his favorite student because I enjoyed and cared about his class even though I was bullied and called a band geek for liking it.
I think one of my favorite teachers was my high school math teacher because he was always super chill and while we were doing school in 2020 and 2021 he was always really chill when it came to masks in the classroom and dividers on our desks
I had an Italian teach in 5th grade who was smoking hot great chest, ass, everything about her was wonderful she'd always wear low cut shirts. I never could remember the question I had to ask when she'd get to me and bend over to ask what I needed. She had to of known what she was doing right? She used to love calling/saying my name also. I ran into her years later and found out she named her son after me... Gawd she was just great!
Usually the strictest ones. I have no fucking clue why and what is wrong with me and I probably never will.
8th Grade English teacher. She was interested in teaching us how to think rather than what to think. Her guidance helped me to think outside the box in life.
