Most days. I have an office in my house but need to go to the actual office once per week to run payroll and sign those checks.

I used to. But I had to get away. It was driving me crazy finding excuses to leave my home

I was a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser for an auto insurance company.
I worked in the Los Angeles area for 20 years. After I got married, my wife and I wanted to move to northern California. My company granted my request.
They didn't have any adjusters in the area, so they set me up with a home office. I would call in for my assignments every morning and go out to inspect damaged cars at body shops, tow yards or residences.
I knew my job and my company loved me. Nobody was watching over me. As long as the paperwork looked good, they figured I was doing a great job. My assignments got turned in every night and I knew what the company was looking for, so my paperwork was perfect.
I loved it.20 ReplyI do, on a self-employed basis. There are pros and cons though.
Pros? I don't have a direct boss, I can manage my time any way I like. If work allows, I can take a day off in the middle of the week or take an hour or so every morning for myself.
Cons? Deadlines need to be respected, so if weekend work is required to deliver a job on Monday, I just have to accept that. It can be hard on your family though if you can't always be with them.
I find that you need a separate room or space for work-related things. A space you can close off at night or whenever you're not working. It helps to keep a good balance between work and your private life.

Yes and no. I have a work from home job and a job where I actually have to drive to get there and back. I also have a job that I guess is considered another work from home type job but I can also go to a coffee shop or a bookstore and work on my books there

@lightbulb27 I thought it was a waste of time. Then a bunch of the kids cheated on the final. I did not fail anyone but I felt bad about how it ended up.
