I don't claim to be an expert on investing. And yes, I understand the goal of index funds is to leave the money in unless the fund is greatly underperforming or vastly over performing. But I got in when the market bottomed in the summer of 2022. Since then my investment has grown by 46.27% when the market avg would normally have been 22-28% over the same amount of time. With talks of a recession do you think I should trim part of it or just leave it alone. I suspect most are going to say leave it alone. But I'm interested to hear others views.

I say leave it alone and take a long term view of the market. Looks like you bought at the right time and have had good growth. It will go down during economic downturns and market corrections, but good funds perform well in the long haul so you're better off holding it for the long term.
You're right of course. I guess I just needed to hear that because after getting such a good return I don't want to leave it to the mercy of a market correction. I know the right move is to sit back and just add more if the market does correct. Thanks!
