I find that when I work late (because professional tasks require it from time to time) and sleep longer the next morning, I’m like continuously chasing the day. I will wake up and feel like: I’ve really got to get going, I’ve got a lot of things to do, time is short.
I’m in a completely different mindset when I get up early, let’s say at dawn in winter. I have time for a stroll before work. I get things done more easily and find I’m more focused on the task at hand. Usually by 4 in the afternoon, I can call it a day as regards to my work schedule and still have time for other things.
For the record, I don’t have a 9 to 5 job, I can pretty much determine my own work schedule and priorities.
