What to do when my previous employer gives negative feedback for me?

I had a personal problem with my previous employer and lost the job. Now when I am looking for new jobs, I am not selected because I fail in background check. What I can do to avoid this. I am fed up of succeeding in 2nd or 3rd rounds of interview and fail in last stage.

An employer should only give you a feedback on the quality of your work and not because you had an argument with him/her during the time you were employed.

At least that's how it is in a civilized country where those rules are governed by law such as in the country I live.

Here, I can force the employer to change his written certificate of employment to reflect only the quality of work and not a personal appreciation about how he/she got along with the employee. If the employer does not abide by the rules and the laws, I can take him/her to court.

Seek the conversation with your former employer and find a consensus. That is the only way for you to get out of this vicious circle.

Background checks are a curse for 10 years in this country. I know where I work we can't employ anyone who fails all the regular checks, background, police checks etc.
