In 2016, I read in a survey that 40-55% of Christians do volunteer work, that they do not get financially or materially paid for.

This seems estranged from secular society where everybody is paper chasing and trying to boost their pay cheque.

I read that over 48% of working Americans have a side hustle, or second job that pays extra money on top of their regular job.

My mom did off site consulting when she was an engineer.

My cousin sold dumplings when she was an engineer.

My uncle did investments while working as an administrator at his wife's law firm.

My aunt ran an Amazon selling business while working at her full time job.

My other cousin owns at least 4 different businesses, such as a Chinese medical business, a Chinese tea selling business, a spiritual guidance mentoring business, a tour guide business, a commodities business etc...

Depends. Volunteering for a good purpose or as a hobby, like as football Coach or for the RedCross to help during Natural disasters or the Volunteer Fire Department?

Yes, absolutely. But completely unpaid or underpaid in a regular job? No F-ing way. For example I would not even consider working as waiter and begging customers to pay me a tip, because the restaurant owner is to stingy and greedy to pay me a fair salary. Nope, I would rather loom for a higher paid job or a different job altogether.
