For those that work from home, how do you like it?
I found out my job will have me working from home after 3 months of working in office.
I worked from home during the pandemic. I liked it, and was more productive than being in the office or at our customer's site, since I didn't have to spend 3 hours a day traveling to and from the office. Zoom meetings kept my team in touch, and remote access to our customer's site allowed me to monitor and maintain the systems there without having to be there.
It's different. There are some things you need to do before starting.
1) Have a dedicated workspace, some place where all you do is work, nothing else goe on in there
2) Dress as if you'd be showing up at work. Studies have shown that dressing in work clothes, even if it's work from home increases productivity
3) Remove distractions.
Thanks for the advice!
it's the best possible experience... no constantly walking people, no constant chats, no meetings in the kitchen, no smells... and believe me... over 90% of people don't shower regularly or don't change their clothes daily...
so I don't return to the office... ever... :D
Pays well enough, let's me take care of things easier and gives me some stability
Working from home offers flexibility and more personal time, which many find beneficial. It can improve work-life balance and eliminate commuting stress. However, it requires self-discipline and can sometimes feel isolating. The effectiveness often depends on personal preferences, work environment setup, and communication with colleagues. Embrace this change by setting boundaries for work hours and creating a dedicated workspace. In my experience, the key is to maintain social connections and establish a routine that supports productivity.

Never tried it. I always thought it would be good for me, but knowing myself, I think I would get too distracted and wouldn't get anywork done
I was already getting distracted at my regular job, I can't imagine how distracted I would get at home.
I had to teach remotely during COVID. I did not like it. The students did not learn anything and I know that some cheated on my exams. It was not a positive experience at all.
In Covid times I did but knew my job was not getting done effectively because of who I was responsible for (teenage students).
I've been doing it for many years. It is nice not to have to commute, but at times I miss the social aspect of working closely with others.
I no longer WFH, but when I did, it was okay. However, I need the camaraderie.
I enjoy it periodically but working in the office is much more productive.
I do some work from home and some from the hospital. I like both locations.
I hated it
