I have a first-round interview tomorrow for an At-home customer service position at an Internationally known chain of hotels (Hyatt). This job would be primarily taking and canceling reservations for Hyatt hotels worldwide. They start at $17 per hour and offer benefits such as Holiday Pay, Floating Holidays, PTO, Insurance, Family time off a minimum of 8 weeks for parents after birth, 12 free stays at any Hyatt property worldwide per year, 401K and IRA, an employee stock plan, and tuition reimbursement for up to $1000. It would be a pretty solid job since I'm pursuing my BBA with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Although, I've heard there can be some downsides to working at home. What do you think? Any advice? Have you worked at home before?
I had to work from home for a period and it was lonely. I missed my coworkers.
For my job, I had to spend large parts of my day on Google Meets - so the extra home distractions made it challenging. At times, it was harder to stick to a routine, too.
However, it was nice having more flexibility during work hours. For example - being able to get house stuff, like laundry, done during the day was a nice perk.
I'm sure if you decide to go for it, you'll adjust. Hope all goes well! 🙂

a friend I've known years recently quit his office to job to take a job working for the federal government. He saves money by not having to commute (so no car, car insurance or gas). The downside he says it lonely - he has no coworkers and his former office colleagues often get together without him after work.
Fine with me! I've done it a number of times, so far. At least partially. Once I get my living situation sorted out, I intend to do more home work.

I currently work at home with one day in the office every 2 weeks. I much prefer working from home, but in the office we do have some banter.
Simples...
My cousin worked at home for a while, but then she gave it up?
I would feel far more relaxed and like it much better. Hope you get the job if that's what you would really like to do.
Great you don't have to talk to anyone
I would feel bored.
Happy I guess
