Try to live in the present moment. Don't dwell too much on the past and don't focus too much on the future. Things will happen when it's supposed to happen and if the things you're hoping for don't work out then it wasn't truly meant to be for you.

These past 8 months I kept living in the past. Wishing I could go back and change what happened in my relationship but I realized that it just wasn't meant to be. There was nothing that was going to stop what happened. We just grew apart and weren't as compatible as I thought we were.

I will admit to my faults though. I didn't live in the moment. I was steady in the future which ultimately was the demise of the relationship. I pushed and pushed something that he obviously wasn't ready for with me. I won't do that in my next relationship. I will be in the present with him and if things progress they will progress on it's own.
