Is there a Danish word for 'please'?

A thought popped into my head today as they occasionally do. Here in Wales our translation for 'please' is a sentence rather than a single word, literally "if you see well" Spanish has "by favour" and France "if it pleases you"

I was wondering how many languages use phrases rather than one word so I did a little Googling.

I found a few claims that there is no Danish word for please but when I used Google translate I found one. So if there's any Danes here, do you have a word for please?

Depends on the context, but we'd either say "tak" (thanks), or "vil du være sød/venlig at" (Would you be so kind as to) - or we just say please, as a lot of Danish people borrow English words in our daily speach.

In Denmark, they don't say 'please,' they say, "Don't bother asking me for any favors." You could say "Please let me strengthen the NATO alliance's position in the Arctic region" and they would have absolutely nothing going on in their brains at all.

the average Danish person speaks two to three other languages... maybe that's why they don't bother to make up all the words in Danish?
