I didn't go to an interview because of my anxiety... has anyone ever experienced this?

I am not getting any job offer except for this one and I just completely blew it by deciding not to go because of anxiety. I am such an introvert and I don't know what to do with it.

I did that to a girl I was supposed to meet on a date, just totally bailed.

It's called over thinking...

that's anxiety... over thinking. If it's hormonal, then schedule apts when you are hormonally stable, exericse eat right and try to manage it.

If it's not hormonal then it's more emotional and time to work on yourself emotionally so your sensitive wounded heart has more strength.

Jesus marched into a city where he knew something was up and had a destiny... it was more awful than imagined being rejected and flogged and tortured to death. That be some serious anxiety without conviction.

So develop some conviction, go to church this Easter Friday/Sat/Sun, relate to someone else and draw from their strength.

And make the next one success. just because you get interview doesn't mean you get the job. If you have to, go work for yourself... interview yourself and give yourself the answers.

practice meditation and breathing... put yourself in stressful but safe scenarios and practice, that will help. Practice talking to people and building confidence. practice makes success...

what to do about the interview... I don't know. sad to say employers deal with this a lot more than you think. you could try to reschedule if you are serious about it.

I see the hormonal issue at this age before, can be debilitating. having empathy for others will help you get out of your head into there's... out of your troubles into a new area of giving which likely feels good. thus feel better. ask others how they do it.

I've been blessed in life to not experience crippling anxiety like that. I can tell you a few really good and helpful things for anxiety though. This stuff helped me survive law school and whatnot.

• Ashwagandha is fantastic stuff that soaks up a bunch of the cortisol out of your blood. Cortisol is the chemical that causes anxiety. Totally natural, and you can get it from Walmart as a daily supplement.
• Because something like 80% of your brain chemicals come from the gut, most people experience a huge relief in anxiety symptoms by staying away from processed foods and refined sugars.
• Anticipating and resolving problems before they become problems is a huge way to relieve anxiety. Do as much prep work as you reasonably can ahead of time.

I get it 100%. I remember literally crying and hyperventilating on the way to my first interview post-Covid, it was a nightmare. You just have to try and remember that your anxiety is all in your head, and work on recalibrating your mind. I also started taking CBD drops and other things meant to ease my anxiety. I’d drop a few in my water bottle and drinking it helped me readjust to being out in public and stuff.

Yes I have. But you have to face the music and put your anxiety to the side as hard as that may be. If you want to be employed, you have to try and push it away.
