Is 4-5k a month for a 26 year old bad?

So I started a new job about 6 months ago now no work in sales I took the job for a few reason one there’s money in it and two I wanted to keen how to sell things so I can take the knowledge and use it in my own endeavors and build multiple streams of income.

I love the job I’m at currently in the position I’m at I make about 4-5k a month which for me is a very welcome change considering I worked nothing but dead ended retail jobs previously. And I have potential to make more one of my co workers who’s has been there for 7 years makes about 6-7k a month pretty consistently cause she’s is that good maybe more since I don’t know the entirety of her sales and hourly so those number are just a rough estimate at like based on her total sales but you can get bonus for seeking to certain customers so oral likely she is making closer to 7-8k a month.

And even myself I’m kinda welling short slightly but I’m asking cause I live in NY where the cost of living is high and people like my co worker live pretty comfortably in the city which is more expensive then where I live.

Yet when I told a few people about how much I make not in full detail just the average 4-5k they said I wasn’t making anything really. Now I know annually that isn’t enough to live comfortably in the U. S if your like a home owner with a lot of bills.

But for where I’m at I could get my own apartment now ON MY OWN in the past I had no clue what I was gonna do or if I’d have to room with someone. But now I could afford one on my own without much issue and I have potential to make more in my position and if I move up I’ve could make waaaay more upward of 6 figure.

Dude, that's pretty solid money for a 26-year-old, especially in a high cost of living area like New York. 4-5k a month is nothing to scoff at - that's 48-60k a year, which is a really good income at your age.

The fact that you have the potential to make even more, up to 6 figures, is awesome. You're in a great position right now with this sales job. Don't let those other people get you down just because they don't understand the full picture.

As long as you're able to live comfortably, save some money, and work towards your goals, that 4-5k a month is doing its job. Not everyone needs to be a millionaire at 26 to be successful. You're doing really well for yourself, so try not to stress about what other people think.

Keep grinding and keep that sales game strong. With the experience you're gaining, the sky's the limit. Just keep focusing on your own growth and success. Haters gonna hate, but you keep doing you, bro. This is a solid spot to be in.

That's in the 50k a year range, which isn't bad. Over time, that should increase.

Is it really that expensive to live in America? Here we live with only 1500 euros with my mother and we live well on 2, it's crazy how much money you need to live in America.

Yes especially right now, I’d say on average to live somewhat comfortably in the America you would need to make anywhere from 75k-100k a year. And that is just for one person but that’s if you wanna buy a house and are paying for all the bills that come with that. As well as other expenses.

my monthly pay puts me at about 50-60k a year which isn’t bad for someone my age and you can live somewhat comfortably on that at least I can but I obviously couldn’t afford to buy a house or pay for one. So bigger expenses are out the question.

And if you live in big cities the range is closer to 85k-200k yo live comfortably and just to be fair most Americans aren’t making that type of money.

What do you mean by comfortably though? Cause if you're careful you can still live well and wouldn't need so much money.
In france people too believe we can't live on minimum wage but with my mother we live on it comfortably for our standard.

I guess it really depends on the individual like I said most Americans aren’t making 6 figures. And those are just projected google numbers but from my standpoint comfortably is being able to pay all your bills consistently without much or any worry while still being able to go and do fun things like splurge on shopping here and there or take a nice vacation

Oh so then it really mean America is ways more expensive than France then becuase here we can do all those stuff on minimum wages.
It's quite worrying to need so much money especially since most American don't make so much. It's quite sad.

Yeah in America your not gonna be able to live off minimum wage unless your like a manager and I guess that’s highly dependent on the job as well but 9 times out of 10 your not gonna be able to do that in America which is sad to say currently things are just getting more and more expensive as well

Yes that's very sad for people, I mean you should not have to work 70 hours a weeks to be able to live, it's crazy. If you're not able to live on minimum wages then it should get higher.
