• Do managers generally acknowledge you when you come in on time? Like when they do payroll. I’m okay with it, but how often is that acknowledged?

It's acknowledged with every paycheck. What do you want, a parade every time someone walks in on time? It's not gonna happen. No one has time for all that. It's called having a work ethic and a bit of self respect... which includes respecting others by showing up on time and being reliable.

Some places do "employee of the month" to celebrate their reliable go-getter employees at a team meeting to indicate who serves as a good example to the rest of the team, but other than that work is work... no one is obligated to celebrate every step you take like a kindergarten teacher...

When I worked my previous sales job, I found managers, cared more about your respect for details, then they did about the quantity of duties you could achieve in a set period of time.

I would say 80% of your performance review was based on how much respect you had for them and their rules, and 20% was based on how good you were at improving their economic output.

Bosses are people, not unfeeling robots, and they don't care that you are good at boosting their pay cheque, if you make them angry with your carelessness and your toxic social habits.

I guess it depends on the job. In my career, being on time is not that important.

The managers I've had have been more interested in my productivity, how much I get accomplished and whether I finish tasks on time and within budget.

As a manager I can tell you that you notce when people are late. I just assume that everyone will be on time, so no unless its something special I wouldn't reality give praise for that.
