How much does the guy Otis Graham showcase the path to success, details here?

So I borrowed his book on the black upper class from the library, I am not black, and classify myself as upper middle class, but I wanted to know what a lawyer from Harvard would write about upper class relations between different cultures, and I am not going to comment on his intelligence or his personality here, but what I noticed is the sheer effort he put into writing his book.

He probably interviewed 80 times more people than most professional authors, and he probably did around 60 times more investigation and analysis and study on his topic than the average author. So I would say, a huge part of his success, or at least 80-90%, was based on the fact he was willing to work harder than everybody else. You have authors that rely on their intelligence and less on their sacrifice to create a work that gets published, but Otis Graham seemed to be 80% effort and 20% I. Q.

Stephen King is an example of somebody who relies more on talent and less on effort, because he has written so many different books, that it would be impossible to put the same amount of effort into every single one of his books that Otis Graham put into his singular books.
