Have you had to look for a job recently, and if so, how long has it taken you to find one?

So, I am currently looking for work and running i to issues such as very little remote work or pay being way less than I'm currently making. I am curious if others are struggling with finding work as well.

How about you? Any current or recent job searches for you and how did it turn out?

Welcome to the Project 2025 economy. This isn't an accident. A Gig economy where employees are temporary 1099 workers with zero benefits who work day to day has been a dream of the 1% since the New Deal was passed between 1933 and 1938.

Unions have been systematically gutted in legislation and the courts at the state and federal level. The 1% funded that legislation with dark money in campaign donations.
The 1% are bankrupting farmers and buying up farmland to control the food supply.
The 1% are building corporate apartments and buying up residential homes to control housing.
The 1% are driving the poor and middle class off health insurance to leave healthcare aa something that only benefits the wealthy in the USA. All others are expected to die quickly and cheaply and quietly.
Companies are requiring MBA's for entry level jobs while education costs $50K per year and $300K for an undergrad degree + a masters degree. So $300K in education to get a shitty job that pays $65K.

And you are a terrorist promoting class warfare if you oppose the 1% who have been waging class warfare against 99% of the population for 100 years.

Yeah, this society isn't working for anyone but the 1% at the moment.

I got fired a couple years ago and my friend gave me a job fixing stuff at the restaurant she managed right away. On my way home I stopped at one of my old jobs and they asked me to work there again. Now I've had 2 jobs for 2 years and am thinking about putting a big down payment on a new car. It's funny how getting fired worked out just fine for me. If you're looking for remote work, good luck. They can pay somebody in a foreign country much less to do remote work. That shit is going the way of the dodo.

Yes, currently looking for a new job. The job search has been somewhat dead. Not a lot of jobs in my field of work or that pays well. I've applied to one job where I got an interview for but I don't think I will get it because he kind of already said they have someone else in mind for the position. So it was a waste of time to even interview me. Smh.

Honestly I didn’t look for work I was just dissatisfied with my past job and then I was contacted on LinkedIn with an opportunity

So I applied and got hired

I am also thank God self-employed as well and because of this you don't have to worry about finding a job since I just employ it myself and so far I like myself and my work. That said, I sympathize tremendously with you in that I would not want to be looking for a job in this country in this environment. Economically at this time. Money is just too tight and there are just too many people looking for work. My field is very rarefied in that the people in it, including myself have to have of the highest levels of education and there aren't too many of us. This makes it easier and so my understanding of your situation at somewhat wimited. I'm sorry.

Nah I've had a stable job for the last 6 to 6 and a half years. But if your wanting work you might have to be willing to be flexible on the kinds of jobs you apply for.

I looked for a Job last September and found one in 4 days. It was a shit show and this was the worst year of my life. I asked the same recruiter in September of this year and she basically said everyone is on vacation. Call me in January..
