Is it hard or easy for you to find a job?

Today, assuming I stay in my area of expertise or use my social network it would be very easy. I am habitually scouted a few times a year. Before I got work it would have been tough. Job searching has never been harder.

I am inside the job market now. Compare getting a new loan when you have money coming in to spare vs getting one when you have no income. One is as easy as letting people know you want it, the other is likely humiliating and you'll get taken advantage of ten different ways before a yes.

It is very easy to get when you are in a favorable position though. Utterly demeaning and soul crushing if you are not. After all people do not see you but either a safe or a risky investment. Convincing someone to take a risk when the payoff is similar to not taking one is a very tough sale.

This is why we were meant to make lots of friends growing up and studying. Social capital is as valuable, more really, as skills.

I honestly don't know. I've been at the same company for about 15 years, so I haven't had to look for work recently. Prior to that, I always seemed to get lucky, and find jobs pretty quickly.

I've been very fortunate in finding a job when I've had to. I wouldn't call it easy but not hard either.
