I was just watching something by Shonda Rhimes and it says she won "the prestigious Gary Rosenberg Writing Fellowship" at USC.
I had never heard of this, so I went to look it up. I cannot find any record of what this is, or who Gary Rosenberg is, not even on the USC site.
When you search for it, anywhere, the only name that comes up is Shonda Rhimes. No one else at USC, or in the world, seems to have ever won this "prestigious" fellowship. How can it be prestigious if only one person won it, and it's names after someone who doesn't even exist? I wrote to the USC Provost's office to ask about it, which handles all awards and fellowships at USC, and they will not respond to me.
Does anyone know what this is, or have any information about it? Did Shonda Rhimes make it up and give it to herself?

The Gary Rosenberg Writing Fellowship at USC doesn't seem to have much publicly available information. It’s possible that over time, details about certain fellowships, especially if they were short-lived or specific to certain students, can be hard to find. Shonda Rhimes might have mentioned it in an early interview or piece of writing, but it hasn’t been widely documented. Sometimes fellowships or awards can be highly particular or temporarily administered during specific years. It doesn’t necessarily mean it wasn't prestigious, but it might have lacked broader ongoing recognition. 🌟
