What do you think is the ideal salary for a man?

I think a man should earn at least $500,000 a year. Otherwise, it's very difficult to make ends meet. What do you think?

That salary comprises less than 1% of all working people. Good luck finding that, and when you do find someone, good luck getting him to accept ‘greed’ as your defining characteristic.

And if you do find that, good luck finding someone who's not working 24 hours a day to keep up that pace. And if you do find that, good luck finding someone who's not going to slam your ass into a prenup so tight, you'll be lucky to get money for Hamburger Helper once a week.

The ultra-rich know what they're doing, and they see you coming from 100 miles away.

That would be ideal. The man that earns that has his money tied up in an offshore trust. The trust owns his house, car and all investments so the guy who makes $500k receives a modest salary on paper from the trust. Offshore trusts are cheap to set up and inadmissible in divorce court and in most cases, the woman doesn't even know about it before marriage. Sign the prenup because you'll get more than you would from an offshore trust.

Average Salary is $60,000.  A man who earns $500,000 can do more than make ends meet. A man who earns $100,000 can also.  Personally I believe if you own your own home outright you are doing well.

It depends on:
- Where you live (NYC vs small town)
- Family size and responsibilities
- Debt, lifestyle expectations, and savings goals
- Partner’s income and shared priorities

Many families live solid, meaningful lives on far less than $500,000 by adjusting lifestyle, planning carefully, and prioritizing what truly matters.

Instead of chasing a number, I’d define “ideal” as:
Covers needs comfortably, funds savings, and supports a life aligned with your values.

Depends on his lifestyle. I could live well and even save money on 50 K a year. Of course I don't care about having a home or apartment of women or any of the things that take up a man's money typically.

That's absurd. Fewer than 1% of men are paid that much. Many people live comfortably on less than $100,000/year. You better be pretty special if you are going to hold out for a man earning that much.

Good luck finding a man who earns that. I would suggest a man should earn 25% more than a woman earns, since a woman is out or not productive one week a month. 😎

Yeah it be great if every man could make that much a year but there are jobs out there that need to be done that won’t pay that much. The avg. amount people make be $32,000 a year or less and that people with college degrees.
