Do you ever regret changing your career path after graduating in law?

I am a law graduate and worked in law field for a while before changing a career and moving abroad.

Recently I helped my mother deal with her legal issues with her inheritance and that moment made me realize, I wish I was there and handling things like a lawyer, instead of curating my classmate from my Bar Exam’s Preparation in 2022, to deal with it, who ended up practicing law and became an attorney.

The good side is that as her classmate from Bar’s Exam Classes - She helps my mom for half the price.

The bad side is that I feel like I should have been there and pursued law and done it myself.

I'm not a lawyer, and I would never be one... I went to science/engineering school but, I did quit half-way

I don't regret that, that was my choice... and I had good reasons for that too, science or that type of engineering was something I really didn't want to do so going to college for that, was a mistake... correcting such mistake is not a regret, and I am much happier this way

Even if a person has a law degree yet is in another corporate profession it still looks a lot better than just a four year degree. It takes a LOT to graduate with a law degree!

I have known several attorneys that went into teaching. There were three that wanted to teach high school. One was an art teacher. I knew a couple at the college i work at. They said that they did not like being an attorney. Years ago one of my customers who was the manager of a condominium complex told me he had a law degree but was making a lot more money.

Actually, I had a free ride to law school if I wanted it, in terms of tuition. I didn't really like what lay ahead, even in lucrative estate law, so I took a different path.

When i was in my 30s the company I worked for was going out of business. It was a dying industry anyway. I had to train for a new career.. I was either going to go to law school or else go into IT. This was back when the internet was really tsking off so I got a Masters degree in Computer Science and I never looked back.
