How can I stop overspending and finally save money on a low income?

I have issue where I can’t save money and afford anything as my job has an app where you can take out money ahead of time for any emergency from your upcoming check and you get charged $4 each time u take out money. Ever since using that I don’t get my complete full deposits of $1300 or $1500 every 2 weeks. I want this to finally be over.
I did overtime and will have $500 leftover June 5th. But I spent $1100 the past 2 weeks ahead of time. I took out money daily for gas as I spend $200 or more a week on gas to moms far city to job. A full tank is $85/90

I’m sad as I cud of had $1500 saved in this check. But I used money to pay some bills I owed. So I was behind.

i been eating at home but still overspend on food daily as I’m tired from working overnight so I buy things I don’t need if I lived 10 min away from home. I’ll buy $6 cofee or shake to keep me awake or $10 meal that’s junk and not eat as it’s not good as I’ll have urge eat as home is too far.

I’ll have $500 leftover but only $300 to save and $200 for food gas for next check 2 wks. but I’ll need sleep in my car 2 weeks and not go home as I’ll spend my savings on gas. So I’ll need sleep and stay all day in car reading til work begins not drive at all.

i don’t need clothes , I don’t need anything , all I need rn is save money and move out close to job so I can begin school so in future I can earn more money.

i also am trying get promotion at work so I can make more money but I’m not getting it so far just being praised by supervisors and being taught to learn new things.

i also have $30 in change saved up rn in a drawer at home. til July I’ll have a full $1500 check to save , no bills no debt owed. In one check it’s free and the other check I use most of it for bills and only $400 leftover without overtime.

Try not to spend beyond your means. Being in the habit of spending money you haven't yet earned is a slippery slope and you will find yourself in debt rather quickly.

When I get paid, I always pay my bills and grocery shop first, then I set aside money for gas. From each pay check, I add to my account. The money left in my checking is what I use for some fun things.

My father always told me that after your bills are paid you always pay yourself (adding money to your savings). Even if it's just a little bit - it will add up.

Out together a spending plan that includes your income, expenses, and savings each month. You can use Excel or another spreadsheet to define the plan. Make sure your plan results in a positive net (income+savings greater than expenses) each month.
