Have you tried any new DIY projects or skills within the last year or so? Would you rather fix something in your house or car by yourself or hire someone to do it instead?

I replaced brake pads on my car for the first time by myself this weekend.

Congratulations on doing your brakes, but if you didn't have a car you would have saved yourself some time doing DIY.

I do everything myself when I get around to doing it, but I must admit I'd rather do something more beneficial than DIY.

The most important skill I've learned is preventative DIY.

This is a skill that saves you loads of time and money like I've mentioned above, and this is how it works.

Look after everything, be careful you don't damage things you own, think of ways of protecting items to make them last so they don't needing repairing or DIY.

In this way I've not needed to ask for someone else to do the job, or have the need to do the DIY job myself.

If I had the time and energy to learn skills that make life easier (and cheaper) then I absolutely would. But I am a mom to two young kids and just don’t have the time or energy to devote to learning new skills. I hope that will change in the future.

that's one thing I don't like to mess with, lmao... but I am trying more of it as of late
