Can I postpone my best friend’s 50th birthday party for exams without hurting her?

I want to get a job in my chosen field when I finish and the teachers said I can succeed, but it'll be very hard for me and I'll have to live and breathe work and studies until I graduate, because of my learning disorder. My learning disorder doesn't affect my intelligence. I have been found to have a high IQ; which I only mention if it's relevant to my education, so people can know where I fall down.

One of my girl besties is turning fifty in three months, around the exact time that I'm finishing off my TAFE course. I'll be really busy. We planned on throwing her a party at a middle eastern BBQ place in our local area, which I'm paying for. I'm also buying her a beautiful mud cake from the bakery. We have group gifts for her. I have ordered cards for our other friends to save them money. She will be very upset if I don't turn up and I have a deadline for my assignments. Would it be okay to postpone her party by a week, explaining that I need to finish my course and that I must work super hard, but I still love her and plan to celebrate with her?
